How hackers taking advantage of Internet of Things

How hackers taking advantage of Internet of Things

The latest technology, IoT is going to take the world by storm. This awesome money and time-saving trick to virtually monitor devices in your household is showing some promising signs. Once it hits our everyday life, it will be more than just productivity-boosting. Their are many pros and cons of this latest technology. But, benefits of this technology are ceaseless. And the one thing that rises above all-is that comfy, warm sense of being connected to your home things wherever you go. Internet of Things is all about the safety that comes with the associated apps.

Or... is it?

Our planet already has enough mess accumulated by technology. According to the Forbes, a whopping number of 30,000 computers are hacked every day. Whether the sob story is - Sony's hacking Scandal or Jennifer Lawrence's outrageous photo-leaks, privacy breach is nothing new to hit headlines.

But the safety hazards associated with Internet of Things didn't discourage David Carmon, Britain's Prime Minister to promise 45 million to IoT's future. But Edith Ramirez of Federal Trade Commission, USA, aired the data security concerns that IoT inevitably brings and she warns "Any device that is connected to the Internet is at risk of being hijacked."

Considering National Security Agency spying leaks, letting Internet steer the wheel of your household appliances is another way of sending a welcome note to government surveillance agencies (or worse, hackers who do it for fun), to monitor what's on your plate for dinner this evening. Just as shown in the TV series Homeland, terrorists are capable of hacking even a pacemaker.

A fitness-tracking smartwatch, the one that counts your step or heartbeat, can be tampered with. Symantec Corporation has carried out research that confirms so. Make sure when you use IoT as security footage or baby monitor, isn't being used to stalk your move. The other devises that are susceptible to such intrusion are Smart TVs, Baby monitors, USB, Routers and even toilets!

It is predicated that cutting-edge IoT solutions have already started to materialise at a rapid rate replacing the traditional customized solutions. It is to historically alter consumer habits and trends. No matter what security challenges they involve, business Internet of Things connections are expected to reach 5.4 billion in 5 years. According to Verizon Inc., organizations that do not switch to IoT-based solutions will lag behind by at least 10% less profit by 2025.

The security of Internet of Things depends on the data encryption during transmission. It will take true grits of manufacturers and careful consideration of computer scientists to ward off evils lurking behind the smart LEDs and unassuming webcams. Or else, IoT will be our 21st century's cross to bear.

How GPS Tracking has changed our lives

How GPS Tracking has changed our lives

It's easy to take things for granted, none more so than when it comes to technology that we come to love and use day in day out. Technology becomes a way of life, and after a while people become dependent on it and very often take it for granted. Consider the internet, for example. When people lose their email and ability to browse they can often feel lost or unsure what to do!

The same could be said for GPS Tracking technology.

GPS Tracking technology was a major breakthrough for the US Military back in the 70s as a network of satellites was deployed to transfer communications from global devices back to central command posts. GPS Technology in the military has become so important know it would be difficult to see how the forces might cope without it. It is literally saving lives on the front line and allowing tactical teams to plan and deploy with a better understanding of terrain and enemy movements.

But its not just the military who have benefited from GPS technology. Over the last few years we have seen a boom in the consumer retail trade and many different products targeting different applications of GPS Tracking. From our pets to our cars, we can know track anything that moves, in near real time, or set up features known as geo-fences so that if something moves outside a designated boundary we receive an alert on our mobile phones or email accounts.

Why have we become so affectionate with GPS Tracking?

The thought of being able to track something of value in near real time is quite an exciting prospect, especially with the cost of purchasing the devices now becoming more affordable due to mass production. The thing about GPS Tracking solutions is that there is no end to the different applications it can be used for. It can literally be used to keep track of your car (vehicle tracking is one of the most common uses), boat or caravan - or if you want you could use it to keep track of your children whilst they are out playing with their friends.

It's not just limited to home use though. Many businesses make use of the technology by deploying tracking systems to fleets or remote workers.

Sports teams use GPS tracking devices, not only in extreme events such as mountain climbing and trekking, but they can also provide accurate information for training when it comes to speeds and distances achieved during a session.

There is no definitive list of things that you can use the technology for, but one thing is for certain is that that is has changed the way we live, for the better, and will continue to do so for the years ahead.

How Can I Burn DVD Movies On My Computer

How Can I Burn DVD Movies On My Computer

We often get emails from people asking how they can burn DVDs, so today we're gonna cover this exact topic. There's a lot of different DVD burning programs out there, but as you may know, many of them can't make backups of every type of DVD. Let's look at what you need to burn any DVD you want.

Unfortunately you aren't able to simply use a program like Nero or Roxio to copoy you DVD movies. The reason for this is that most of the DVDs that you buy in the stores have some type of copyright guard or protection on them. Because of this protection, your computer isn't able to recognize the disc and read it properly.

This doesn't mean you're out of luck though! You just need to equip your computer with the right type of software. Once you have the right tools, it's a snap to make a copy of any DVD you want.

There are now software companies that have developed DVD burning programs that can bypass these copyright protections and allow your computer to make copies of your DVD movies. Because the software can get past the guards, your computer is then able to make sense of the data on the DVD movie disc.

As a side note, most DVD movies are recorded on 8GB DVDs. However, most blank DVDs are only 4.7GB in size. Don't worry though - the best DVD burning programs will be able to condense the data so that it will fit on the smaller size. You can buy 8GB blank discs, but they are a lot more expensive, so this feature is a great one to have in a DVD burning program.

There's a few DVD burning softwares you can choose from, but make sure that you pick one that offers you updates. The reason for this is that every now and then new copyright guards are invented and the software must be updated so that your computer can bypass these new guards. The best DVD burning programs will offer this feature to you.

I also like to see a moneyback guarantee offered. This way if there's any problem with the program I can get my money refunded. The companies that are confident in their software won't have a problem offering this.

Having a DVD burning program is a great way to backup all your DVD movies. Once it's installed, you can copy any movie you want with just a couple clicks of your mouse. Enjoy the show!

Heighten Your Speech Presence by Eliminating One Distractor

Heighten Your Speech Presence by Eliminating One Distractor

How do you deal with dead, empty space while speaking? Do you pause contemplatively letting your listener take in the information you are sharing? Or instead of quietly pausing, do you fill it up the space with something--anything--just to avoid the silence? If you have the tendency to fill the space with words, you are not alone!

Here are some common words and phrases that many people use to fill space while speaking. See if you recognize any of them in your own speech:

"um" and "uh" "You know what I mean?" and "You know?" "and stuff" "anyway" "like" "and" (or another conjunction used to string sentences together)

An alternative to this habit is the adoption of a unique phrase or word. For example, on a recent trip to the computer store, the gentleman working with me said, "BAM!" every time he showed me something on the computer. He would type in an instruction, hit "return" and say "BAM!" When he printed something off for me, he said "BAM! There it is." It was cute but none-the-less distracting.

One of the worse cases I've seen of someone using word fillers was seeing a colleague include fillers in writing! It was almost like his fillers were a part of his thinking process!

Using any of the above fillers in conversation or while giving a speech is distracting and makes listening very difficult. Why? For one thing, the natural flow of speech is interrupted and the speech sounds disjointed. This causes the listener to be distracted making it more difficult to follow the story line.

Secondly, word fillers tend not to add value or meaning to the topic. Even "you know what I mean?" is meaningless if used too often and if the speaker doesn't actually wait for a response. Again, it distracts the listener from the speaker's message.

Fillers like the ones mentioned above aren't just distracting. They diminish our presence as professionals. Think of a polished speaker who you know. Does he/she have word fillers in speech? Recently, as we watched the Olympics it seemed that a lot of these young athletes were especially articulate and did not use any word fillers.

Consider how you feel when you experience a person talking with word fillers. Do you get annoyed? Or feel impatient? Do you listen to the message or do you tune him/her out?

To figure out if you use fillers and just how often, ask a partner whom you trust to listen to you while you speak for a minute. Talk about yourself or your business. Ask your partner to count the number and type of fillers that you use in one minute. Another technique is to record yourself speaking on the telephone and then listen to the recording and count instances of "ums" or other fillers in your speech. This is a humbling experience if you discover you are a "word filler expert" and didn't realize it!

Once you have awareness of your speech, pick a time during the day that you can work on eliminating this behavior. An excellent place to start to making changes to your speech is while you speak on the telephone. Again, tape record your end of the conversation and listen to yourself after the call, you will be able to monitor changes even better. Set goals with the number of word fillers you feel would be acceptable. A few "ums" aren't distracting but a lot of them are. Work towards using none or 1-2 in a minute.

Like anything else, developing new behaviours takes time, patience and practice. But having polished speech is advantageous and well worth the time it takes to have it!

Getting Your Brain Fitness Program Started

Getting Your Brain Fitness Program Started

As we age our brain changes and we have more memory lapses, fuzzy-thinking, and it gets harder to process what we learn. This could be due to a variety of reasons, such as stress, multi-tasking, sleep deprivation, or diabetes.

"The decline you're noticing is real and it starts before age 30," says Michael Merzenich, Ph.D., professor at the University of California at San Franciscos Keck Center for Integrative Neurosciences. "A 60-year-old brain takes in information two to three times slower than a 20-year-old brain. As a result, what's stored in memory is two to three times less clear and detailed. And by age 80, you may be five to eight times slower. That's a big difference!"

Now that you have the bad news, what can we do about it? Can an old dog be taught new tricks? "We used to think that with age, brain cells shriveled up, died, and that was that," says Paul Laurienti, M.D., Ph.D., a brain researcher at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. "Now we know that even older brains can grow new, stronger connections."

In 2007, Dr. Laurienti conducted a study that scanned the brains of 23 elderly people. He found that those who'd gone through a memory training program were able to focus better than those who did not. There are other verifiable studies that have concluded that using the old noggin actually does build new connections and slows the brain aging process.

There are now dozens of memory training books, video games and brain games on the market all promoting the fact that if you do them, or buy their program, they can stop you from getting Alzheimers disease. Do they actually work? Although the jury may still be out on this, there is a good possibility that some of them may at least slow the process down.

What makes for a good game that will boost your memory? According to experts, there needs to be at least two criteria present you must do them regularly, and they must be challenging. "Brain training is analogous to physical workouts," says brain researcher professor Sherry L. Willis, Ph.D., of Pennsylvania State Universitys Human Development and Family Studies. "You have to cross train work different parts of your brain and keep adding new challenges." One the game gets too easy its time to move on to something more challenging.

Here are a few games that actually could be of benefit to improve your memory:

Brain Fitness Program This program claims to retrain your brain to hear information better in order to boost memory storage and recall. In a company-sponsored study, 93% of 182 elderly people reduced their memory age by as much as 10 years. The cost of the program is high, but appears to be justified.

Keep Your Brain Alive Written by Duke University neurobiology professor Lawrence C. Katz, PhD and Manning Rubin, this program uses the five senses in what they call neurobic exercises to stimulate nerve cells in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex (areas of the brain responsible for memory and abstract thought). Basically it is retraining your brain to utilize different areas, and those who have tried it say it definitely is invigorating.

Happy Neuron - A team of French neuroscientists and computer engineers put together a series of 28 different computer game exercises that cross train your brain and focus on a number of different brain functions including memorizing, attention, visual and spatial skills, language, and logic. The pilot study showed 10 people with memory problems showing significant improvement in cognitive skills after playing Happy Neuron 3x a week for six months. They also were following a healthy diet and exercise plan as well as engaging in social interaction, so there is no conclusive evidence that the game was the reason for the improvement. For those who like computer games this may be something you would like to check out.

Mind Fit - Developed by Israeli psychologist Shlomo Breznitz, Ph.D., MindFit is designed to boost cognitive skills, including short-term memory, reaction times, recall, and eye-hand coordination. This brain game claims to train 14 different areas of your brain in order to enhance cognitive powers and memorizing. It is customer fit to your specific needs, but some who played it found it boring. In a company-sponsored study, 171 men and women played this game three times a week for three months and had "greater improvement in the cognitive domains of spatial short-term memory, visual-spatial learning, and focused attention" than study volunteers who played ordinary computer games.

Brain games have been shown to improve memory and help people with problems remembering names and faces, and there are a lot of them out there. Those developed by neuroscientists seem to show the most impact because it is in their field. It is up to you if you want to outlay money for these games. There are many free online that you can experiment with.

The most important thing in trying to improve your memory is that you are doing something to actively keep your brain alive and working and basically that is what these games are teaching you. You can also take memory training workshops and listen to CDs on memory techniques that will do the same thing make you think and challenge your brain.

Energy Coaching Helping Paradigm of The Future

Energy Coaching Helping Paradigm of The Future

Image source: http://image.slidesharecdn.com/efeuflexesegerstamjanthefutureflexibleenergysystem-161101105013/95/efeu-flexe-segerstam-jan-the-future-flexible-energy-system-enabling-the-paradigm-shift-in-energy-1-638.jpg?cb=1477997497

You probably know about the extraordinary effectiveness of Life Coaching in helping clients who are past the need for therapy but still need support, productive insights and brainstorming such a relationship generates. Regular life coaching helps functionaloften very highly functionalclients to go further, faster and work smarter, not harder in completion of desired goals. Coaching as a profession views the client as a complete person, not in need of fixing, and in possession of all the resources they will ever need to solve their own problems. But there comes a time even in highly functional client's lives when all the talking in the world doesn't help bust through a blockage or conquer an irrational fear.

These are often simple impasses - a man can't ask for a raise because he fears rejection, a woman has difficulty finishing her doctoral thesis because she thinks she's not smart enough (even though she is). Or a service professional finds they are living on past glories and can't seem to generate new sales or clients. These difficulties can all be dealt with elegantly and in most cases, swiftly, with Energy Coaching.

Dr. John Hartung's presentation on the use of Energy Therapies in Coaching at the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology's 2005 annual conference, showed that "coaching with an energy advantage" is a burgeoning movement with a fanatic following of both clients and coaches. Why? In Energy Coaching, we extend a clients resources by empowering them to use The ETHOS Method, Emotional Freedom Technique, ZPoint Process, Be Set Free Fast and Energy Kinesiology methods as stress and blockages manifest in their everyday lives.

Half of these methods involve manual tapping and warming of acupressure points, and the others use the power of the mind and energy of thought to dissolve personal blockages. Just as the physical body is run on weak electromagnetic current, so our thoughts are also made of energy, and as such, can be retooled to transform our lives.

Clients using these techniques love how fast they are able to eliminate personal stoppers, even on the fly. They also enjoy continued quantum leaps in personal development that pick up where therapy leaves off and go much, much further. Armed with these tools and the coachs eagle eye perspective, client success is much more readily ensured.

One benefit and natural outgrowth of Energy Coaching is resolution of the Coachs own issues, with subsequent expansion of personal resources, awareness, life balance, abundance and spirit. Energy Coaches model success by maintaining their own energy hygiene on a daily basis, using a set of simple but powerful routines that they share with clients, family and friends. And like all therapists and coaches, Energy Coaches work with their own issues on an ongoing basis. Energy modification techniques are used by the Coach as well as the client when blockages ariseboth inside and outside of the coaching session.

As a helping discipline, Energy Coaching has an experimental spirit, welcomes failure as valuable feedback, and honors that the knowledge gained from "learning another way not to do it correctly" can be the key to future success. Energy Coaches as a body of professionals have a mission to broadly teach energy modification methods to promote worldwide wellness. Psychotherapists, social workers, medical personnel, hypnotherapists, body workers and other human service professionals can easily segue into Energy Coaching as a complementary practice to the services they already offer clients.

Energy Coaching offers an advanced toolset and broader range of services for clients who have reached high levels of functioning. If the thought of working with well-functioning, highly-motivated clients energizes you, and you like the idea of having tools to get your own issues continually dealt with, Energy Coaching might just be YOUR next "quantum leap."

Electromagnetism-Stress: Research:

If your entire house is subject to high magnetic field levels, it may be wise to move soon. Not only will this reduce your family's long term health risks, but you could also save some of your investment in the property. With regard to buying a houseIt might be prudent to consider the location of distribution and transmission power lines...." Already, according to Business Week, there were more than 100 lawsuits about power lines and property devaluation in the early 1990s. Still other lawsuits, like that of a family in the state of Washington, deal with the deaths of children from leukemia and other cancers linked to magnetic field exposures in schools or homes. The child who died in Washington was just one of several children attending the same school that was exposed to high EMF from power lines, all of whom died within a short period of time. Beyond studying such repeated and unnecessary tragedy, it is time to begin doing what we can to prevent them, bringing to bear our present level of understanding, although it is incomplete, as it will always be. When so many children are dying daily in so many advanced nations around the world, we should not claim the luxury of waiting until further research is completed. We know now quite enough to reduce the major risk factors.

Martin Halper, a director of the Environmental Protection Agency, is quoted in Fortune Magazine saying, "In all my years of looking at chemicals, I have never seen a set of epidemiological studies that remotely approached the weight of evidence that we're seeing with ELF electromagnetic fields. Clearly there is something here."

More than 60 studies have linked human exposure to magnetic fields like those emitted from power lines and computers to cancer, leukemia and tumors. In vitro laboratory studies show that human cancer cells can reproduce up to 24 times more rapidly when exposed to fields like those near power lines. Based on the results of the Savitz study, Fortune magazine reports that up to 30% of all childhood cancers may be attributable to ELF fields. Doctor David Carpenter, Dean of Public at SUNY in Albany, New York, who headed the 5 million dollar New York Power Project to review the carcinogenicity of magnetic fields, calls that estimate conservative. This is a burden both in human life and in fiscal terms that must be weighed heavily against any cost for modification of our present systems for electrical power supply. In 1993, I wrote that if present trends continue, by the turn of the century 41% of Americans can expect to develop cancer in their lifetime. Now, in 2000, that figure is 50%. Someone dies of cancer every minute on the average in the United States. This is about a half a million deaths each year. If that figure could be reduced by one third, $25 billion dollars could be redirected from cancer treatment and research to serve other human needs. The key is that it will first require a shared commitment as a society to take constructive preventive action.

It is no accident that most of the epidemiological studies show primarily cancers of the immune system or the nervous system in relation to electromagnetic stress, since these are the most electromagnetically active tissues the body. Both store energy patterns in memory. No wonder they are the most affected by electromagnetic interference from outside the body. Unfortunately, the interest generated by studies on the relationship between electromagnetic stress and cancer has largely failed to carry over into concern or study of the more subtle effects on human health and performance which must precede the onset of cancer and the ultimate death of the individual. Cancer only occurs in an electromagnetically low energy terrain in the body. In such terrain, cells lack adequate energy to fully remove metabolic wastes and environmental toxins. As these build up within cells, they further impair cellular metabolism, including energy production and detoxification. The resultant positive feedback loop is what physicians diagnose as cancer. It is simply a collection of cells that are full of toxins. As the toxins build up faster than they can be eliminated, more cells must be produced to hold them. The image is rather like a modern city dump bulging at its seams for the excess of waste material. Just as in our city dump analogy, the tumor which forms (often encapsulated, like a well managed landfill), keeps those extra poisons away from the rest of the body where they would pollute other tissues and interfere with still more links in the delicate chain of life. Many years ago, experiments in Europe in fact found a cure for cancer. Tumors were simply innoculated with a microorganism, which would feed on the tumor. Unfortunately, while the disease was cured, many patients died. They died of toxicity, not of toxins produced by the microorganisms, but of the toxins being sequestered in the tumor for the protection of the rest of the body. Thus, the frequently held view of cancer cells as the enemy only leads us astray from providing the kinds of support those valiant and loyal cells need in such a depleted and toxic state. Of course, beyond a specific, irreversible level of toxin accumulation, it makes total sense to attempt to heroically excise a toxic mass from the body. What makes less sense is to attack the tumor with more toxins (chemotherapy) and radiation. Fortunately, Vincent in France has pioneered a method to measure the body's electromagnetic energy status. This science, referred to in Europe as the medicine of the future, is known as Bio-Electronics of Vincent (B.E.V.) or Biological Terrain Assessment (B.T.A.). This approach can help predict whether the irreversible terrain has been entered yet or not.

Electromagnetic therapies for cancer have also been pioneered around the world by several researchers, with indications of good success during the reversible stages. These include the use of specific ELF electromagnetic stimuli by Royal Rife in the U.S.A, which he found to destructively resonate with the microbes he found associated with most cancers at 666 Hz, 690 Hz and 727 Hz.

Clinical researchers in both Europe and Japan have developed electromagnetic testing of functional body responses. Methods in use today on a worldwide basis include E.A.V., B.F.D. , Vegetative Reflex Test and Ryodoraku. These and similar methods allow skilled practitioners to tap into the body's own electromagnetic regulatory system to discover its energetic imbalances, causal structure, priorities for correction, and the effectiveness and tolerance of specific potential therapeutic agents before they are actually instituted on a clinical trial basis. Much trial and error, as well as the associated stress on the body's already compromised regulatory capacity can be saved in this way in the hands of a skilled and knowledgeable clinician.

Energetic biofeedback and 'dialysis' of the bodys own electromagnetic oscillations are the concepts behind other methods emerging in Europe in the field of biological medicine. MORA therapy instruments separate harmonic, or normal, life frequencies from disharmonic elements of the bodys total electromagnetic oscillation pattern. Harmonic energy can be returned to the body and amplified to an appropriately subtle degree to help support a return to a normal biological energy level from the low energy terrain, which predisposes one to cancer. At the same time, the disharmonic waveforms can be inverted and amplified, so that when they are returned to the body, they destructively interfere with the sources of the disharmonic vibrations. This concept initially sounds like medicine of the future, yet the same technology has been in use for damping sound vibrations at places like Heathrow airport in England for over two decades. A microphone picks up the current noise oscillations in the environment at the listeners ear, and the inverted waveform is played out through headphones. Where there was noise, now a speaker plays silence!

It is unfortunate for the 500,000 annual victims of potentially preventable death by cancer each year in the U.S.A. that no research on these techniques has been supported by the $75 billion dollar a year cancer cartel made up the pharmaceutical industry, the medical industry and government.

Animal studies have demonstrated increased rates of birth defects and miscarriages. Three studies in peer review medical journals like the American Journal of Epidemiology link computer use with birth defects and miscarriages in humans. Three other studies link male breast cancer with magnetic fields from power lines. More than 60 studies showing health effects of EMF are summarized in Biofields: The New Physics of Health, first published in 1991.

The World Health Organization (WHO) established the International EMF Project in 1996 to assess the scientific evidence of possible health effects of EMF in the frequency range from 0 to 300 GHz. It is scheduled to complete health risk assessments of EMF in 2007 covering:

static (0 Hz)
extremely low frequency (ELF, >0 to 300 kHz)
intermdiate frequency (IF, >300Hz to 10MHz)
radiofrequency (RF, 10 MHz-300 GHz)

Their stated #1 objective is to "Provide a coordinated international response to concerns about possible health effects of exposure to EMF."
In 2001, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences classified EMFs above 4 milliigauss as a possible human carcinogen. The California Dept of Health Services (CDHS) has also classified EMF as a possible human carcinogen.

Synergy with Toxins:

Personal computers outgass toxic chemicals in addition to emitting E.M.F. Simultaneous exposure to these two stressors makes each potentiate the adverse effects of the other according to the research of Dr. Ross Adey.

Where a cancer promoting chemical is combined with E.M.R. exposure, the cancer cell growth rate is greater than with the chemical alone according to the research of Dr. G. Philips.

E.M.R. exposure can significantly alter the effects of prescription drugs according to the research of Dr Henry Lai.

Volatile organic compounds (V.O.C.s), motor vehicle exhaust fumes, and petro-chemical source fragrances interact with EMR to increase adverse reactions. Toxic chemical exposure causing multiple chemical sensitivity (M.C.S.) is typically linked with EMF hypersensitivity. Reducing petrochemical and heavy metal exposure helps reduce EMF sensitivity and vice versa. Dysbiosis and parasites due to suppressed immunity are another common aggravating factor that needs to be addressed in many cases.

Conclusion:

The flow of life energy is the source of our aliveness, our wellbeing, and our consciousness. This life force is a harmonic concordance between our personal energy and that of our environment. Ultimately only one fundamental process exists in the universe. In physics it is called the superstring. It is a ray of light. Matter is merely frozen light made up of these superstrings. In each of us, the energy flow of life manifests as movement, nerve and fluid currents, emotion, and thought as well as the subtle energy fields given terms like nadis, chakras, points, vessels and meridians. When the flow is disrupted or disturbed, health cannot be achieved. When discordant or disharmonious energy fields are imposed upon us, the flow of life energy is impeded and the preconditions are set for disease. The purpose of releasing the flow of life energy is to permit the normal state of radiant health and wholeness to unfold.

Total health is a state of progressive organic development from the moment of conception to the moment of transcendence. This process encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual development. A truly healthy person achieves progress in self-mastery in order to contribute uniquely to the greater good.

The quality of life depends upon ones abilities. Abilities are functional capacities to consistently utilize specific physiological processes. Abilities encompass all spheres of physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our lives. Each person has abilities in which they are gifted and abilities that are more or less latent. These functional capacities are measurable. They can be specifically stimulated and developed. Through exploration and utilization, physiological abilities naturally develop and become an integral part of the whole person. Performance is the complex orchestration of functional capacities to achieve excellence in the creative manifestation of our goals.

For 1 in 3 citizens in industrialized nations, finding solutions to electromagnetic pollution is a necessary first step toward achieving those goals.

The author's father, J. Baxter Swartwout, O.D., F.C.O.V.D., F.A.A.O., a behavioral optometrist near Albany, New York, has been monitored regularly for several years. When he began using his electric blanket at the onset of upstate New York's chilly autumn nights in 1988, electromagnetic stress was the only test out of several hundred that came up positive. Usually a much more varied pattern of stress responses can be elicited. After five days of not using the blanket, the underlying stresses could then be identified and eliminated. In other words, the electromagnetic stress had been totally masking all other physical stresses and preventing the body from responding to them. This type of masking effect can be responsible for poor elimination of toxins as well as interference with normal healing and regenerative processes.

:E.M.F.-Glossary:

B.E.V.: see Bio-electronics of Vincent

Bio-Electronics of Vincent (B.E.V.):
B.E.V. is an objective means of measuring and calculating energy based on both the electrical (electron) and magnetic (proton) factors in addition to the energetic information factor (photon) via ion content or conductivity (the inverse of resistivity). B.E.V. measurement and analysis can be applied to blood, urine, saliva, water, nutrients, or other substances via measurement of the standard physical parameters: pH, rH2 or O.R.P., and resistivity.

Biokinesiology:
Biokinesiology is an advanced method of muscle testing which integrates biocommunication protocols from European electrodermal testing (see Vegetative Reflex Test and Electroacupuncture According to Voll).

Carrier frequency:
A carrier frequency is the frequency or rate at which an oscillating pattern repeats. It acts as the carrier of the information contained in the characteristic pattern of the waveform. The carrier determines the energy content of the individual photons, which transmit the wave. Each specific carrier frequency is like a different AM (amplitude modulation) radio station.
Characteristic waveform:
The characteristic waveform is the shape of an electromagnetic oscillation. It is determined by its specific source and represents an information content of the electromagnetic oscillation. A characteristic waveform is like the programming on a radio station.

Dowsing:
Dowsing is an ancient art of finding water or other substances through amplification of subtle body responses. Dowsers may use wooden or metal dowsing rods, a pendulum, radionic instruments or other convenient amplification devices.

Electroacupuncture According to Voll:
E.A.V. is a form of electrodermal remedy testing developed in 1953 by Rheinhold Voll, a German dentist and medical doctor. This system allows the measurement of points and meridians that correspond to specific internal body organs and functions.

Electromagnetic:
Electromagnetic field radiation is composed of electrical, magnetic and information components. Electrostatic fields are produced by stationary electrical charges, such as the capacitor in a television set (even when unplugged). Magnetic fields are produced by electrical charges in constant motion, as in a direct current. When electrical charges change their pattern of motion, as in alternating current, electromagnetic radiation is produced. Information is carried in carrier and characteristics waveforms as well as scalar (information only) waves.

EMVU (Elektro-Magnetische Vertrglichkeit mit der Umwelt) German term for Electromagnetic environmental compatibility.

Electronic factor:
The concentration of electrons in a fluid medium, such as in all biological systems is one of 3 factors, which determine biological energy via the Nernst equation. The other two factors are the magnetic factor and the ion content (electrical conductivity). Because free electrons quickly combine with free protons to produce hydrogen (H2), their concentration is measured as a function of hydrogen molecules (rH2).

Hertz:
The number of oscillations per second of an electromagnetic field is given the unit Hertz (Hz).

Homeopathy:
Homeopathic substances are produced by successive dilution and succussion, resulting in increasing potencies containing increasing electromagnetic carrier frequencies and decreasing chemical concentrations.

Homotoxicology:
Homotoxicology is the study of toxins in man. As toxins penetrate further into the system, they may enter more vital organs and tissues. They may also interfere at deeper levels within the cell and ultimately the nucleus. The reversal of this process is marked by a shift in symptoms to more superficial or less vital areas according to anatomy and histology. This detoxification process may also be marked by local metabolism of toxins accompanied inflammatory symptoms, and by increased elimination through mucus membranes, skin, urine or feces.

Ion:
A positively or negatively charged particle is an ion. Ions are capable of carrying electrical energy within the body by their movement. The total ion concentration determines the electrical conductivity of a fluid, which is one of 3 factors determining the total energy content according to the Nernst equation. The other two are the electrical and the magnetic factors.

Magnetic factor:
The concentration of protons, which are positively charged ions, is measured by the magnetic factor (pH). It is one of the 3 basic factors, which determine the amount of biological energy via the Nernst equation. The other factors are the electrical factor and the ion content or electrical conductivity.

Multi-dimensional:
Multi-dimensional refers to any process, which has more than just one or two dimensions or key factors. In truth, everything is multi-dimensional. It is only our limited perception, representation or thinking about something that can appear linear (1D) or flat (2D). Space is multi-dimensional (3D). Space-time, which Einstein conceived to be inseparable except by the perception of each individual observer, is 4D. Physicists may now view the universe as 6D, I0D or 26D depending on the context and model proposed.

Pendulum:
A pendulum is a simple device consisting of a suspended weight used to amplify subtle neuromuscular patterns in the arm for the detection of biological responses to subtle electromagnetic energy fields.

Radiesthesia:
Radionics is an approach to detection of biological responses to subtle electromagnetic energy fields using a stick-plate, which is rubbed by the fingertips. Amplification of subtle physiological changes takes place via noticeable changes in the feel and sound of the stickiness of the stick-plate. Numbers called rates may be used to identify various fields, just as these fields might be identified by numbers such as frequencies, wavelengths, or other characteristics of an electromagnetic oscillation.

Spectroscopy:
A spectroscope measures the intensity of different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. It is not able to measure the characteristic waveforms of the radiation. The information provided by spectroscopy is therefore like knowing what channels are on the air, but not being able to identify the programming. The most sensitive indicators of the characteristic information in electromagnetic radiation are the physiological responses of biological systems.

Vegatetative Reflex Test:
Formerly called the Vegatest Method, developed in 1979 by Dr. Helmut Schimmel, this is a method of electronic monitoring of skin resistance at an acupuncture point. Homeopathic stimuli are used to determine the patterns of causality and relief from stress at that time.

Doctor Shopping Type I

Doctor Shopping Type I

You may not know what Doctor Shopping is but Ill bet you do it. There are actually two definitions.
The first type is when someone goes from one doctor to another trying to find a diagnosis he or she likes. That may sound pretty bizarre but it does happen. And worse yet, they never tell one doctor that they either have gone to another doctor or are going to go to one. They may end up with a myriad of tests AND medicines. From all the drugs, they may take some of this, some of that and never take them the way theyre supposed to. But this is a topic for another article.

The kind of patient I want to discuss today is the one who gets most of his or her advice outside of the doctors office. Let me give you an example. I stop at the gas station every morning to get my coffee. Theres a really great guy behind the counter and were always talking. One day I noticed that his wrist was very swollen so I asked about it. To make a long story short, I felt he probably had something like Rheumatoid Arthritis a very nasty bone and joint condition. So, I advised him that he needed to see a doctor. He said that his ex-wife kept telling him that too. But that he wasnt going to go he was just going to see what happened.

Almost every time Ive seen him after that hes mentioned what someone else has told him. There was a drug salesman that mentioned he should try to get this type of drug. Then there was a chiropractor that told him he should be doing something with his feet (by that time, hed developed swelling in his knee). His ex-wife gave him a different drug than what the salesman recommended. There was a physical therapist that told him he had gout. The last I heard someone told him he should have a cortisone shot. This person wasnt even medical it was just someone who had had one and therefore felt that he should get one in his knee. By this time, I just cringe when I walk in and dont even ask him if hes been to the doctor yet because Im afraid to hear the answer.

This is so dangerous. People are always willing to give you advice about anything- you already know that about other aspects of your life. Theres no difference with medical issues. Everyones had something wrong with them and if you give them a chance, they will find some similarity between their condition and yours. And therefore, to them, the thing you SHOULD do is whatever they did to get better it may be going to a massage therapist or taking their grandmothers chicken noodle soup with herbs in it. Dont get me wrong - I am not saying that some of these things dont work (Im a big advocate of home remedies but when things are still just as bad as they were a few weeks ago, that ought to tell you something).

You really need to go to a doctor when there are things bothering you that are chronic conditions. You can try other remedies that people tell you about but if you go back to the previous paragraphs, this man was getting actual MEDICAL ADVICE from these people which drug he should get, a cortisone shot should be used, etc. These are not home remedies. He was given a drug (and it was a potent one) by someone without having a diagnosis. This drug could have caused bleeding from his stomach or intestines (common side effect).

Avoiding seeking care is bad enough in my book but I understand that not everyone has insurance and cant just go to the doctor right away when things bother them. However, please dont be taking things that other people say (or give you) as the correct thing to do or use. Not only will they not always work, they may create more problems as we just discussed. And, it creates pre-judgment in your mind so that if the doctor (when you finally go see one) cannot win unless his diagnosis matches one of your friends, acquaintances or customers.

Researching on the internet is better than this because the internet gives you possible options based on all the symptoms you put in. Plus, you can get verification on many websites.

So, do yourself a favor, listen to what people tell you and thank them politely for their advice and then go to the phone and make the appointment with your doctor.

Do You Embrace Change

Do You Embrace Change

Image source: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDmphL6WTgoKkaoxM3qm0k1uvo0k4TA2x5Sf-jvxSoT7r6ETbmfyAHOx8Dv1-mrso47v1b0VH6ALEMMrRk8t9otRH_6OdohhXd8R58DVVRZRm9Jw7u8ffIhki-YL2zgFpw9gcX65Iz-PY/s1600/calmdownnow.jpg

How do you feel about change?  If youre anything like me, you probably have mixed feelings about it.  While it often depends on our perception of the type of change big or small, good or bad, needed or unnecessary, easy or hard, etc. most of us seek and fear change simultaneously.

Ive recently been dealing with quite a bit of change in my life both big and small.  Building my new website, which on the one hand is a pretty small change in the scheme of things, ended up being a very big change for me and allowed me to take a deeper look at a number of things about myself, including my relationship to change in general.

The decision to create a new website was pretty simple and clear my old one was outdated and a new one was long overdue.  In practical terms, not having an updated website was probably costing me some business and credibility.  In addition, the type of website needed for my business is pretty simple and straightforward.

However, the actual process of creating the new website (even though its something Ive done a few times in the past and was eager to do now on many levels) posed two major challenges for me personally.

First of all, I tend to be a creature of habit, especially when it comes to things I dont totally understand or have the skills to do myself (like build new websites).  Instead of embracing change with technology, I often find myself avoiding the uncomfortable feelings associated with not knowing things or being dependent upon others to do what I dont have the skills to do myself.

Second of all, the biggest reason Ive avoided creating a new website for the past few years has been my resistance to getting new photos taken and new videos filmed.  As Ive written about before, one of the most significant ways self criticism shows up in my life is related to my appearance.  Getting photos taken and watching video of myself has never been my favorite thing, but in the past few years it has become even more challenging for me as my aging process has included the thinning of my hair a change Ive had a hard time embracing and something Ive definitely considered bad.

The thought of getting new photos taken and posting updated videos of myself online has often been accompanied by the voice of my inner-adolescent saying mean things to me like, Youre ugly, People will laugh at you, No one will take you seriously, You dont look as good as you used to, You should be ashamed of yourself, and more.  Not fun or kind at all - maybe you can relate to this in your own life?

While I have chosen to embrace the change in my appearance in my real life by shaving off most of whats left of the hair on my head, something about posting new photos and videos on my website seemed even more scary and real to me hence my resistance and fear to actually doing it for the past few years.

Going through the process of confronting these fears (i.e. getting the new photos and videos done) wasnt all that easy or fun.  However, like most things in life, facing these fears has been incredibly liberating and not nearly as painful as I thought it would be.

While I cant honestly say that Ive completely transformed my relationship to my appearance and made peace with how I look, I can say that this process has been a big step for me in embracing the changes to my appearance (and to myself overall), and has enhanced my capacity for embracing change in general at a deeper level.

Our ability or inability to deal with change effectively is directly related to our relationship to change and our relationship to ourselves.  We spend a great deal of time focusing on the circumstances, situations, and details of the particular changes were facing, instead of taking a deeper look at whats going on for us emotionally, which is where both the impact and the resiliency needed to deal with the change exists.

Here are a few things to think about and do to enhance your ability to embrace change:

- Acknowledge and express your emotions.  Change is fundamentally an emotional phenomenon, much more than a practical or logistical one.  Whenever were dealing with change big or small, good or bad its our emotions that drive both our experience as well as our effectiveness in dealing with it (or lack thereof).  The more willing we are to acknowledge, own, and express the real emotions were feeling in relation to the change itself, the more able we are to both move through and learn from the change were facing in a positive way.

- Get support from others.  Its always easier to deal with change when we remember that were not alone.  Whether its practical support, emotional support, or both we always have people around us we can reach out to and ask for help.  Many things that are scary and challenging for us are easy for others.  Remembering that we can lean on others when were going through change is essential for our own well-being, sanity, and overall success.

- Take conscious and courageous action.  Staying in action, in a conscious and courageous way, is an essential aspect of moving through change effectively.  We sometimes get stuck in fear, perfectionism, or both.  When we stop taking action, its easy for the critical voice in our head (the Gremlin) to take over and convince us that we cant do it, everything is messed up, it wont work out, etc.  If we let the Gremlin take over, we give away our power.  By staying in action and doing so in a mindful and bold way (not simply rushing around to avoid our feelings or just doing things in our comfort zones), we remind ourselves that we have the power to deal with whatever change were facing.  As the late Susan Jeffers taught us all through her bestselling book, one of the best things we can do in life is feel the fear, and do it anyway.

As the saying goes, the only constant in life is change.  It seems that now more than ever, so many of us are dealing with change in our lives personally, professionally, and all around us.  If were willing to address these changes with a sense of authenticity, compassion, and courage remembering that its not about being perfect, its about being real we give ourselves a chance to not only deal with change effectively, but to embrace it in a way that allows us to grow, develop, and become more of who we truly are.

Do We Rely Too Much On Electronic Parts

Do We Rely Too Much On Electronic Parts

Just an innocent question and one that I don't have any for sure answers to but one that deserves at least some thought. I am thinking them number one because my lovely brother-in-law has me writing these joyous articles for him as his employee and also because electronic parts are one of the most frustrating parts for me of the technology boom that has happened in the last 100 (but way more quickly in the last 30) years.

What frustrates me so much about electronic parts? Well for one thing I don't understand them and don't have the power therefore to fix them or to at least know what needs to be fixed, what kind of effort it will be, and maybe most importantly how much it should cost to fix it. It is this way with any system that you don't understand and it frustrates me to no end because people who do understand can't be trusted oftentimes and we end up paying for being ignorant.

Electronic parts also have a habit of breaking at the worst times, and the more we rely on them the worse it is when they unreliably quit working properly. They are so unexpected because often they go from working fine to not working at all. There is no way to do preventative maintenance as a result and so you are always blindsided and left stranded especially if it doesn't happen during convenient business hours.

Another aspect of these frustrating little tools we call electronic parts is that they make the products that we buy that contain them very unreliable from one product to the next. What I am referring to I will try to explain by example. You see right now I am trying to make a wise purchase of a PDA phone and am having trouble as I am getting mixed messages over all on the reviews of the different phones. The problem is that people have such different experiences from one phone to the next in the exact same line and model. This I attribute mainly to the unreliability of the electronic components.

So what are we to do? Well maybe technology should be developed that does give us warning before a part actually fails. Some sort of easy to read meter that gives you a chance to get your car in for a change of the electronic parts are failing. This would make all the difference I believe. The other part of it would be to have more regulation over the parts makers so that they would be forced to produce parts more reliably so that you could be more confident when you buy.

Do Autistic Children Laugh-Out-Loud For No Apparent ReasonFind Out

Do Autistic Children

Many parents report their autistic children laugh-out-loud, for no apparent reason. Parents, or outsiders who are unfamiliar with autism, find it difficult for them to understand, and often socially embarrassing. It is important to keep in mind that autistic children have difficulty with proper reactions to social situations, which is why they often laugh-out-loud for no apparent reason. The same autistic child may have anger outbursts as well, and this is a build up of emotion that is released, often when the child has too much going on in their world, and they become overstimulated.

Laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason, is not the only thing that an autistic child will exhibit. Some of the other behaviors you may see in an autistic child, are repetitive, self injuring behavior, for example, hitting or slapping. In addition, they do not maintain good eye contact, and have trouble communicating with the outside world. Years ago, children diagnosed with autism were socially shunned, and seen as unable to be educated. They were separated from other children in educational institutions, and not given the opportunities that other children who did not suffer from autism were given.

Fortunately, we live in an age where this is unacceptable, and children with autism are able to live fairly "normal" lives. The medical community has come a long way with the treatment for autism. In 1987, one method, known as (Applied Behavior Analysis) which was introduced, and is still, 20 years later is the leading treatment for autism. In some studies, up to 47% of the children were able to lead "normal" lives, to be integrated, into public schools with no problem communicating or behaving in public environments.

The technique called, (Applied Behavior Analysis) involved rewarding children for proper behaviors, while ignoring (not punishing) incorrect behaviors. In one study, children who loved being in the outdoors were rewarded for accomplishment at school by immediately being able to take a walk outside with their teacher. The result, was a positive discovery for children, who had the behavior of laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason. This links proper behavior to a valid reward system. Negative behaviors, on the other hand, were ignored, not acknowledged, showing slight disappointment, and encouraging the children to read signals, to help them behave in ways, that would cause them to be rewarded. It is important to encourage an autistic child, who is laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason, to communicate, in some fashion, and discover social skills, that may not have previously been utilized.

If the behavior of laughing-out- loud for no apparent reason is ignored, the child will learn to use this behavior to calm themselves, and not have an immediate reaction to being stimulated or laugh when there is a reason. It is important to note when a child displays this behavior, it may be when they are in crowded situations, or when the noise level is too loud. It is often a reaction there is too much commotion, and how in their brain, processed in the brain, which causes the behavior. Learn, and pay attention to what produces specific behavior(s), in your child, that may cause laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason, and try to avoid them if possible.

Autism is a disorder, that calls for being educated, learning how to find a cure and what causes it. The medical experts are advancing, but for now, we need to do the best we can to help our children lead "normal" every day lives. The problem of autistic children laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason, is something that may be assisted with behavioral modification, and treatment by experts in that field.

If you have concerns about the behavior of your child, with autism, and are disturbed by your child laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason, do research and learn as much as you can, to be updated with the current results, will be advantageous for your child. Join networking groups, that offer discussions on autism, and the subject of laughing-out-loud for no apparent reason. Talk to your medical experts and discover what they might contribute, to help your child. You and your child are worth it.

Discover Which Gas Mileage Devices Work Best

Discover Which Gas Mileage Devices Work Best

Interested in saving money on the cost of fuel? With the constant rise in the cost per barrel of oil I think it's safe to say your answer would be yes. With the price of oil rising daily, many are in search of a way to fight back and cut their gas expenses through the use of gas mileage devices. As demand rises for gas, so does the price. If we can only lower the demand, the price will begin to fall.

Now that we understand we have to lower demand, we need to know what gas mileage device is the best and most economical for us to use. There are various devices in the market to select from and they include: air bleeding devices, various fuel additives, alternative fuels, engine modification and fuel line devices.

The one big issue with all these devices is that they are not cheap. Here are two reasons for this, one: the majority of us are not mechanics and therefore we would need some assistance installing these devices on our cars. The next problem is in the case of alternative fuels, we would have to continue paying even more for these fuels. These solutions will increase your gas mileage but at a pretty hefty cost.

The focus of our attention should be on paying less money and not more. There is another alternative that I have not disclosed to you that works great. This device uses water and can be built and installed by practically anyone. Interested in knowing what it is?

First, let me describe how it works. This device uses water that can be purchased at any corner store. The device or kit is known as a hydrogen fuel cell and is installed under the hood of your car. Upon installation of the device, your car will run on both water and gas. The cool thing is that you can do this yourself with the cost of parts running around sixty dollars. Once the device is completely installed you will see a big increase, over thirty percent in most cases, in gas mileage.

With all the other important things going on in our lives, the last thing we need is to worry about gas prices. If you want to take your focus of gas prices for good then installing one of the fuel cell gas mileage devices will solve this problem. As an added bonus, your vehicle will have lower emissions thus protecting the environment. It's a win win situation for both the environment and what you pay for fuel every month.

Delivery Procedures What to Expect

Delivery Procedures What to Expect

Delivery is basically a procedure that a pregnant woman undertakes in order to dismiss the child on her womb. It could be conducted through a normal delivery procedure or the caesarian method. Both procedures need prior attention and care so as to secure the safety of both the mother and the child. A normal delivery is also known as vaginal birth wherein the child passes through the mothers vagina; whereas, the caesarian is the method of giving birth that eliminates the pain of labor. This procedure is often associated with the injection of drugs that could cause her to feel no pain during surgeries, such as anesthesia and analgesia.

Types of Delivery Procedures

Delivery or childbirth is never easy. A woman who has delivered a child knows this fact. Pain is basically the biggest deal that covers the whole delivery procedure, in other words, it is the most unwanted deal of all.

Here follows the types of delivery procedures:

Normal Delivery. This type of delivery is attributed with all the natural factors of childbirth. This is in fact very painful. Nothing is injected to prevent women from feeling pain. However, the advancement of technology has improved the delivery procedure in which a woman who is about to go into labor is prescribed with drugs that would calm her or those that would knock her off to sleep for her to feel no pain. Caesarian Section. This is the mostly undertaken procedure during childbirth particularly in developed countries. This is technically a surgery that removes a child from a womans womb. This is often associated with medical guides that help lessen the hustle of delivery. Furthermore, this is a procedure that attributed to the womens fear of feeling the pain of normal delivery.

The Labor Processes

Among the many processes involved during the labor and delivery phase of pregnancy is inducing labor where the woman is given oxytocin, which is a hormone that is naturally designed to make the uterus of the pregnant woman contract more forcefully and more frequently. This part calls for the regular monitoring of the babys fetal heart to detect any fetal distress, which may mean having a caesarian delivery instead.

Augmentation of labor, on the other hand, is the non-natural means of hastening labor that is pushing through too slowly or ineffectively. Again the injection of oxytocin will also be needed in the process.

The Caesarian Delivery

In ten deliveries in the United States, about 2 to 3 are done through a caesarian section. Professional health practitioners do a caesarian section when it is safer than the normal or vaginal delivery procedure such as in the following cases:

When the pregnant woman has a record of having delivered through a caesarian section in here previous pregnancies. When labor is reported to be proceeding too long and too slow. When the fetus or the unborn child is observed to be in a breech or any other abnormal position. When the baby is under unnecessary fetal distress.

One way to manage your time effectively is to use a PDA. A Personal digital assistant (PDA) is a handheld computer, but has become much more versatile over the years. PDAs are also known as small computers or palmtop computers. PDAs have many uses: calculation, use as a clock and calendar, accessing the Internet, sending and receiving E-mails, video recording, typewriting and word processing, use as an address book, making and writing on spreadsheets, scanning bar codes, use as a radio or stereo, playing computer games, recording survey responses, and Global Positioning System (GPS). Newer PDAs also have both color screens and audio capabilities, enabling them to be used as mobile phones (smartphones), web browsers, or portable media players. Many PDAs can access the Internet, intranets or extranets via Wi-Fi, or Wireless Wide-Area Networks (WWANs). Many PDAs employ touch screen technology.

Typical features

Currently, a typical PDA has a touch screen for entering data, a memory card slot for data storage and at least one of the following for connectivity: IrDA, Bluetooth and/or WiFi. However, many PDAs (typically those used primarily as telephones) may not have a touch screen, using softkeys, a directional pad and either the numeric keypad or a thumb keyboard for input.

Software typically required to be a PDA includes an appointment calendar, a to-do list, an address book for contacts and some sort of note program. Connected PDAs also typically include E-mail and Web support.

Touch screen

Many original PDAs, such as the Apple Newton and the Palm Pilot, featured touch screens for user interaction, having only a few buttons usually reserved for shortcuts to often used programs. Touch screen PDAs, including Windows Pocket PC devices, usually have a detachable stylus that can be used on the touch screen. Interaction is then done by tapping the screen to activate buttons or menu choices, and dragging the stylus to, for example, highlight. Text input is usually done in one of four ways:

* Using a virtual keyboard, where a keyboard is shown on the touch screen. Input is done by tapping letters on the screen.
* Using external keyboard or chorded keyboard connected by USB or Bluetooth.
* Using letter or word recognition, where letters or words are written on the touch screen, and then "translated" to letters in the currently activated text field. Despite rigorous research and development projects, end-users experience mixed results with this input method, with some finding it frustrating and inaccurate, while others are satisfied with the quality.[1] Recognition and computation of handwritten horizontal and vertical formulas such as "1 + 2 =" was also under development.
* Stroke recognition (termed Graffiti by Palm). In this system a predefined set of strokes are defined to represent the various characters needed. The user learns to draw these strokes on the screen or in an input area. The strokes are often simplified character shapes to make them easier to remember.

PDAs for business use, including the BlackBerry and Treo, have full keyboards and scroll wheels or thumb wheels to facilitate data entry and navigation, in addition to supporting touch-screen input. There are also full-size foldable keyboards available that plug directly, or use wireless technology to interface with the PDA and allow for normal typing. BlackBerry also has additional functionality as push based email and applications.

Newer PDAs, such as the Apple iPhone and iPod touch include new user interfaces using other means of input. The iPhone and iPod touch uses a technology called Multi-touch.

Debt Relief Reality More Or Less No Principal Balance Markdown

Debt Relief Reality More Or Less No Principal Balance Markdown

Debt Relief IQ is a unique consumer debt relief portal that automates the way in which consumers manage their credit debt problems and is working with lenders nationwide to improve the way in which they administer programs that help consumers. While private investors continue to exploit short-sales and REO sales to purchase homes at the expense of severely distressed homeowners at thirty to fifty percent below the retail market price, the promises made by the Obama administration and agencies like FDIC in early 2010 have yielded little headway in reducing principal home loan balances for homeowners that are severely upside down on their mortgages.

To date, much discussion has been dedicated to the potential positive effects of reducing loan balances in mitigating foreclosures, with most help delivered in the form of gimmicks. One of these so-called FDIC programs in early 2010, would have a small reach and apply only to loans acquired from a failed bank seized by the FDIC, less than 1 percent of mortgages currently outstanding.

During the fourth quarter of 2009, the average borrower owed more than $70,000 of the value of their home, according to First American Core Logic. In 2010 and early 2011, those numbers continued to increase as the number of REO inventories climb.

Whether homeowners have equity in their home is a key predictor of whether they will default on their mortgage or re-default on a loan modification," said Julia Gordon, policy director of the Center for Responsible Lending. "That's why any serious plan to prevent foreclosures has to include principal reduction for those who owe more than their home is worth."

Of course, reducing loan balances to reflect depressed market prices will provide a financial incentive to homeowners to protect their home by paying the mortgage; the point is, however, that the large lenders and investors have determined that it is not financially viable to reduce loan balances on any scale: Lenders and investors have been slow to cut the principal balance owed by distressed borrowers, arguing that it would encourage homeowners to become delinquent even if they have the income to pay the mortgage. Instead, the industry has focused on providing debt relief by attempting to grant loan modifications. That is a virtual dead-end as well, however, as only one in seven homeowners that qualify, actual receive a loan modification.

I recently spoke to a colleague at one of the Mega-Servicers who shared with me that out of the last 20,000 Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) packages sent to homeowners that only 400 of those packages resulted in a completed loan modification. Our firm's analysis of the work-flow processes of the Servicers clearly demonstrates "large service and technology gaps" that explains why only a very small percentage of homeowners have actually benefited from loan modifications.

In fact, the Amherst Securities Group recently released figures showing that 80% of all nonperforming private-label mortgages have not been modified after 12 months and as of Sept. 30, 2010, that the Fannie Mae servicers had completed only 321,800 modifications including 158,800 restructurings that meet Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) specifications out of nearly two million note holders believed to be eligible for loan work-outs. Fannie has 60,500 borrowers in HAMP trials, which represents only 6% of its seriously delinquent loans.

We should mention that some lenders and investors did dip their preverbal tows in the principal loan reduction game; according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, during the third quarter of 2009, 13 percent of loan modifications included a reduction in the borrower's principal. Although that was up from about 10 percent during the second quarter, 2010 yielded even less loan balance reduction activity. But realize thats one in seven received loan modifications and one out of those received a principal balance reduction.

Some of the riskier loans such as "option" ARMs, also called "pick-a-pay" mortgages, that allow borrowers to choose how much to pay each month, have received a higher percentage of principal loan reductions and are concentrated in places where home prices soared and then plunged drastically, leaving many homeowners underwater by up to fifty percent (50%) in some cases. Wells Fargo Bank, which acquired many of these risky loans as part of its 2008 purchase of Wachovia, says it forgave $2.6 billion in borrowers' principal balances for these types of mortgages in 2009 with that number tailing off in 2010.

Although it is widely accepted that that lenders have failed to implement loan modifications that will perform well and keep homeowners in their homes, when the lender makes make contact with the distressed borrower, in addition to examining the work-out options for the mortgage, they must also address the homeowners total debt situation in order to create a real attempt to financial rehabilitate the homeowner so that a realistic plan is in effect for solvency.

It is specifically this lack of comprehensive planning by the consumer that led to the over-leverage by the consumer, borrowing against personal credit debt in order to take on more consumer debt in the form of mortgages. It is critical that the consumer can clearly afford the monthly payments for not only the mortgage but all of their credit debt. Debt Relief IQ takes the consumer through a comprehensive budget analysis that is certainly necessary in making an educated decision to a complex problem. Although it is sometimes difficult to deliver that type of brutally tough message, consumers need real answers to real problems.

In many cases, the budget analysis will yield a bleak picture. For those consumers that simply cannot cover their expenses, looking into all options including Bankruptcy is critical. Of course, some consumers will gravitate towards Bankruptcy Avoidance programs such as debt settlement, the process whereby a consumer hires a firm to settle their credit debt, generally works because it is financially beneficial for the creditors to negotiate with third party firms that maintain a relationship with the consumer and can shepherd a settlement with the creditor as long as the consumer stays in the Program. Credit card debt, personal lines of credit, business debt will be attacked in the debt settlement program.

Debt Relief IQ.com is a unique approach to settling unsecured credit debt puts the control in the hands of the consumer by providing a turn-key technology program that guides the consumer to settle their consumer debt with an easy to use step-by-step process with zero upfront fees. In many cases, an unsecured debt settlement approach is required in order to qualify loan modifications as to meet debt-to-income ratio requirements. If a consumer can reduce their monthly unsecured credit debt payments by enrolling in a program that saves the consumer money, that cash can be used to pay the mortgage.

Unsettled, credit debt that end up as judgments or wage garnishments obviously jeopardize the note holder's ability to sustain payments even after a loan modification is achieved. In other words, all of the time and resources dedicated by the Lender to execute a successful loan modification can be instantly unwound if the Servicer ignores the competing forms of consumer debt, especially credit debt.

For those consumers that would information on other Debt Settlement programs contact by Debt Relief IQ at www.debtreliefIQ.com or call 888-431-9131.

The data logger has now become the indispensable tool for anyone requiring to monitor and record factory processes or environmental conditions automatically. Stand alone data logger systems are now used throughout the manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas, water and power generation industries. Data logger units are also commonly used for industrial R and D, medical research, and environmental monitoring.

However, whilst it is very useful to use a data logger to record a process, or environmental conditions. The data is no use inside the data logger, it has to be downloaded to a PC to be viewed by the relevant users. Typically a user will take a laptop PC to the site and connect directly to the data logger to download the data. This is OK where the site is nearby and data does not need to be downloaded very often, but for remote sites, or where the data logger needs to be downloaded often this is not very practical.

Many types of data logger now incorporate various means of remote communication to enable the data to be collected without a site visit. These can be summarized as follows:

Data logger remote communication via GSM. The data logger is fitted with a GSM modem so that the host PC can connect over the worldwide GSM network.

Data logger remote communication via GPRS The data logger is fitted with a GPRS modem and data is transferred via the internet utilizing the worldwide GPRS network

Data logger remote communications via SMS text messaging The data logger sends its data at regular intervals or on alarm via SMS text message. This is ideal for small amounts of data, such a daily totals from water meters, gas meters or electricity meters.

Data logger remote communications via Ethernet The data logger connects directly via Ethernet TCP/IP to a host PC or network. Some data logger models are also able to publish web pages directly to the internet

Data logger remote communications via low power radio The data logger connects to the host PC using license free low power radio. Ranges up to 10 KM can be achieved with this method.

Using remote data acquisition solutions such as these OEM manufacturers have the option to monitor equipment for fault conditions almost anywhere in the world. A typical example is of a manufacturer of steel mill equipment based in the UK being able to monitor faults in its equipment installed in a mill in China. Where once an engineer would have been sent from the UK to China to investigate a potential fault, now the initial diagnoses and remedial action can be carried out remotely saving time and considerable expense. Portable systems with built in GPRS are now available as turnkey products, with the ability to email logged data direct to a users inbox.

Omni Instruments has many years experience in providing remote data logging solutions for both machine and environmental monitoring together with relevant sensors for process measurement and also weather monitoring.

Cosmic Consciousness - The New Brain

Cosmic Consciousness - The New Brain

Recently I walked into my chiropractor's office and asked how he was doing. "Lots of challenges," he laughed, "so lots of growth and progress." I loved his positive perspective: It's all progress, no matter what!

Perspective often disappears into the mental fragmentation described by Edgar Cayce as "broken points of consciousness." The brain, speeding up to the riot of modern life, deals with this stress by multi-tasking, but soon blurs with fatigue and confusion. The peaceful, easy rhythms of the brain synched by resonance to the natural world are forgotten for the moment and occasionally for a lifetime.

Perhaps you've felt your thoughts bouncing around inside your head, colliding with one another so that you can't slow them down, can't think straight, and don't see which way to turn? This mental state, the result of stress, anxiety and panic (usually induced by anger, resentment, frustration and fear), is a far cry from the higher perspectives of my chiropractor.

Of course, it's easy to be calm, clear, relaxed and insightful while engaged in energy healing, meditation, creative endeavor, spiritual study, communion with nature, and moving meditations like t'ai chi or chi kung. Brainwave frequencies the speed of electrical activity in the brain/mind obligingly slow and deepen into the peaceful centeredness of the meditative mind, which is open and flowing with self-awareness, enjoys creative challenges, and devotes itself to living a life of clarity, joy, meaning and purpose.

Resting inside itself, the meditative mind awakens to an awareness of its deep intuition, which is always present yet not always heard. In the silence, intuitive awareness guides us out of destructive patterns and behaviors, so that we are able to transcend our lower nature and the duality within our own being. Free to explore and create, we let go of what does not serve us and cultivate what does.

With the mind open to itself, we realize our perfection. Fear of the unknown dissipates and loses its grip on us. We come fully awake and devote ourselves to service and the higher awareness enjoyed by enlightened people.

This is how cosmic consciousness evolves of its own accord. Sometimes we awaken spontaneously, but in most of us the brain/mind expands as we do what we came here to do: the work of growth, healing, change and progress.
The Evolution of Consciousness
Recent discoveries in brain science confirm meditation and inner transformation as the evolutionary pathways of the brain/mind into cosmic consciousness. Studies show that focused awareness and sustained attention, the basis of sitting and moving meditation, are responsible for this multi-dimensional expansion.

The "body electric" and the cosmos which, after all, are inseparable are so brilliantly constructed that psychology, physiology and the psychic (mind, body and spirit) operate as one and the same.

To begin with, studies show that the old "scripts" that define (and limit) us are laid down between one and eight years of age in our theta brainwave frequencies, where we operate at those ages. So when we deepen into the alpha-theta frequencies of meditation, we gain access to what needs healing and the still-deeper intuitive wisdom that shows us how to do the healing and assists us in it!

Remarkably, focused concentration on inner healing unplugs the neural circuitry of old, unwanted patterns of behavior (literally, electrical circuits in our theta brainwaves) and in clearing these blocks frees energy for the creation of neurons (nerve cells) in the emotional amygdala and the hippocampus, the residence of our memory, creativity, insight, intuition and spirituality.

So while we are letting go of old issues, we are building new circuitry and brainpower exactly where we need it most!

While we rest in the focused awareness and sustained attention of meditation to do the work of inner transformation, the brain not unlike a computer "hard drive" relaxes enough to "defrag" and revitalize the whole system.

* First, the brain's left and right hemispheres move into balance. The balanced brain, free of static interference, more closely coordinates with its central nervous system to restore and heal the body.

* Once the body's nervous system is in balance, the kundalini life force is better able to uncoil and rise from its seat at the base of the spine up through the large resonating cavity of the heart into the smaller cavity of the skull. Here, compression of the energy raises it into megahertz frequencies that produce gamma brainwaves; these vibrate the parietal lobes of the brain at the crown chakra (spiritual center) into spiritual ecstasy, spontaneous awakening and the brainwave biofeedback pattern of the evolved mind.

* Now humming with energy, the brain surges electricity into its frontal lobe (or prefrontal cortex), the seat of reason and higher synthesis, creating neurons that actually thicken the cortex to increase our capacity for intelligence. Positive affirmations or, as Edgar Cayce called them, "ideals" stated before meditation imprint this "new mind" as it is being formed. We are wise to consult the heart and soul in fashioning our ideals.

* Rather than merely intellectual intelligence, frontal lobe expansion is intuitional. The nerve cells and electrical circuitry accommodate high-frequency gamma brainwaves associated with psychic and mystical states ranging from out-of-body travel and super-psychic intelligence to the omniscience of cosmic consciousness.

* Not surprisingly, we experience this neurogenesis as light. Long-term practitioners of meditation and supersensitive people may see a pulsing indigo light, multicolored lights, or even glyphs in the "third eye" chakra between the eyebrows, where the frontal lobes are located. The rising kundalini life force is audible in rising and expanding frequencies of sound the Sufi "music of life" and can be felt as energy running up and down the spine. If it concentrates in the third eye, said Cayce, this indicates one's ability to be a hands-on healer.

* In deep meditations on love and light, the electrical current in the brain runs to the left prefrontal cortex, where we process positive emotions like happiness, compassion and joy. This processing pattern, conditioned by meditation, builds positive neural circuitry through the bodymind, so that we default less often to negative emotional processing in the right prefrontal cortex. We actually become happier people.

* Consciously listening to our spirit for insights that unplug old circuits and build new ones integrates our instinct, intellect and intuition into the harmony, health and oneness of the new human who will build the new earth, through the quiet of meditation which shows us the way.

It's no wonder that meditation makes mystics of us, and mystics gravitate to meditation. Pathcutters devoted to developing five latent chakras are arousing awareness into a constant communion with God, in the sense that God is the cosmos and the energy of the cosmos is God.

Some 75 years ago, Edgar Cayce predicted the development of a fifth "root race" with 12 chakras and a superintuitive connection to God. Both are developing through our steady expansion of the brain/mind, which in a very timely way is preparing us for the future.

In the midst of chaos, planetary awakening is occurring. The meditative mind engaged in inner transformation is developing the cosmic mind that will see us through the global changes now underway. Today, more people are reaching for cosmic consciousness than ever before. And it's available to everyone.
The New Human, A New Soul
Twentieth century poet and essayist G. K. Chesterton wrote, "The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul." But how do we get a "new soul"?

French President Charles DeGaulle answered this in saying, "We may go to the moon, but that's not very far. The greatest distance we have to cover still lies within us."

It is always wise to measure our progress, if not through brainwave biofeedback, then by noticing what we project out into the world. If you catch yourself blaming or judging someone else, that's evidence of a pattern of self-blame or self-judgment lodged in your subconscious or unconscious mind.

To let go of what does not serve you, find a quiet place where you can be alone, close your eyes, withdraw your awareness from the outside world, and deepen into yourself.

Go down and in, down and in. Pouring white light from your crown into the thoughts in your head, draw your illuminated thoughts into the center of your heart until you feel quiet, calm and present to yourself. When your awareness is sustained, rest in that restorative peace for awhile.

If you have difficulty maintaining focus, slow your breathing, relax the back of your tongue, and draw more light from your crown and third eye into your heart. Or bring to mind an experience of joy and relive that experience. At some point, you may wish to shift your attention to the area between your eyebrows or your forehead. If you do so, be sure to keep your closed eyes soft and relaxed.

When you are ready, allow a question, issue or challenge to surface in your mind and just sit with it. You need not think about it. Just wait patiently. The solution will become apparent to you, along with an inner certainty of higher awareness that will convince you of its truth.

You could end your meditation at this point, or go the distance into the bliss of spiritual light. Sinking into quiet waters that warm the heart and soul, soothe the mind and heal the body takes us into the very presence of love, the energy that composes us and everything else. Opening to Universal Awareness with awe, gratitude and joy lights up and heals the heart "spiritualizing" us, as Edgar Cayce put it. It's a real energy that carries us into Oneness. In return, sending love out into the world evolves our brainwaves and life more than anything else.

Sending out Light, without direction or differentiation, with the understanding that Light knows how to alleviate the suffering of all beings is what generates gamma brainwaves. I have seen this in brainwave biofeedback sessions with others and felt and mapped it in myself. Deva Premal's musical partner, Mitten, describes this blissful sensation in these lyrics: "Just an empty heart, full of light/Resting in emptiness."

We fill with Light to become more as-Light. Surrendering to the Oneness and merging with that Oneness transforms the brain, consciousness, body and soul into the change we want to see in the world the new human in the new earth that we are all so eagerly awaiting.
